Excellence Forever

'Magis' - in pursuit of excellence and more. Adapting, evaluating and more. Achieving more and more! The Ignation motto of 'Magis' or more has been our guiding light for forty years. At the commencement of our forty first year, I reiterate ideas and ideals of Jesuit culture. Ignatius emphasized his constant concern for 'the greater service of God', his comrades and companions suffering immense hardships to implement and fulfill their duty and service to God and their neighbors. In keeping with this principle, touching and molding lives, focusing our energies to create an environment which promotes learning, we move ever onward. School is a part of life that stays with you for life. Distinction in all areas of school life - realizing every potential and exploiting each dimension so as to ultimately lead to human excellence in totality, we strive to produce men and women to adapt, achieve, excel and lead in service to mankind. Authentic empowerment is surrendering to that which is loving, harmonious and good in ourselves, and not allowing for enemies in our consciousness. Jesus said that even the least among us could do all that he had done, and even greater things. You can be a miracle worker. Your 'I WILL' is more important than your IQ. The right attitude, a bright outlook, honesty, integrity and justice in a world where values are fast diminishing along with academic education are vital to us. Our focus remains simple and straightforward. Thus "Good, better, best, Never let them rest, Till your good is better and your better, best." Every Xavierite on the threshold of a new life out of school is and will remain an embodiment of these values. Carrying forward the torch of excellence and its pursuit. Just an action without study is fatal, study without action is futile. Let us make excellence our habit then. Let us make giving of ourselves a habit. Let us not settle for less. The more you strive, the more you achieve, the more you give, the more you get. God Bless you. |
